Iraqi President Offers Condolences Following Deadly Dhi Qar Traffic Accident

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi.
Iraqi President Nizar Amedi has expressed deep sorrow over the deadly traffic accident on a highway in Dhi Qar Governorate, which left a number of citizens dead and injured, while calling for a full investigation into the incident and stronger road safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
President Amedi said:
"It is with profound sorrow that we learned of the tragic traffic accident on the highway in Dhi Qar Governorate, which claimed the lives of and injured a number of our fellow citizens.
In the wake of this painful tragedy, I extend my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims and their loved ones, as well as to all Iraqis. I pray that Almighty God grants the deceased His vast mercy and forgiveness, bestows patience and solace upon their families and those who mourn them, and grants the injured a swift recovery.
Protecting the lives and safety of citizens remains a national responsibility and a foremost priority. In this regard, we call on the relevant authorities to complete the necessary investigations to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident and to take all measures required to strengthen road safety standards, helping prevent the recurrence of such tragic road accidents.
Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return."
