About us
PUKMEDIA serves as the official media platform of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), publishing the party’s official statements, positions, news, reports and information. The platform is committed to professional journalism based on reliable sources, accuracy, credibility and respect for its readers.
●PUKMEDIA was launched on 22 January 2003 in Kurdish and Arabic following a decision by the PUK Media Bureau.
●Today, PUKMEDIA has entered a new phase of development as a trusted official source for PUK news and positions, providing content in Kurdish (Sorani, Kurmanji/Badini), Arabic, English, Turkish and Persian.
●Since its establishment, PUKMEDIA has played a significant role in becoming a trusted source for Arab and international media organisations. Supported by a team of professional journalists, the platform has provided comprehensive coverage of Iraq’s political developments and liberation process, earning credibility and recognition among local and international audiences.
●In 2005, PUKMEDIA expanded its services by launching additional language sections, including English, Persian, Turkish and Kurmanji Kurdish, alongside its existing Kurdish and Arabic platforms.
●From its early years, PUKMEDIA expanded its presence across Kurdistan’s cities and towns and established a network of correspondents in Baghdad, Tehran, Germany, Norway, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Syria, Canada, Egypt, the United Kingdom, Türkiye and Ukraine. The network included around 150 reporters working to deliver comprehensive news coverage to audiences.
As the only official website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), PUKMEDIA continues to publish official party positions, breaking news, reports and analysis in Kurdish (Sorani, Kurmanji/Badini), Arabic, English, Turkish and Persian, serving both local and international audiences.
