Deputy PM, Communications Minister Discuss Strengthening Iraq’s Telecom Sector

Qubad Talabani and Mustafa Sanad meet in Sulaymaniyah.

On the sidelines of the Slemani Summit 2026, Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Mustafa Sanad, Federal Minister of Communications.

During the meeting, Talabani stressed the importance of strengthening coordination between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government to develop the telecommunications sector and improve the services provided to citizens.

For his part, the Minister of Communications praised Talabani’s efforts, patronage and supervision of the Slemani Economic Summit. He also expressed his satisfaction with the significant developments taking place across Sulaymaniyah Governorate in various sectors, particularly telecommunications.

Sanad noted that telecommunications companies in Sulaymaniyah are important partners for the federal Ministry of Communications and play a significant role in advancing Iraq’s telecommunications sector.
