Qubad Talabani: We need India's experience to end corruption

Qubad Talabani meets Secretary of Indian Foreign Ministry
Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani received Secretary of the Indian Foreign Ministry Ausaf Sayeed and discussed ways to develop relations between the Kurdistan Region and India.
The meeting, which was held in Erbil and attended by the ambassador and consul general of India as well as Daban Shadala, Deputy Minister of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), discussed reforms and the process of electronicizing governmental institutions.
Qubad Talabani pointed to India's advancements in e-government in this regard and stated: "The Kurdistan Region needs to exploit India's rich experience to make the process of e-government a success in order to eradicate routine and corruption."
Qubad Talabani also discussed the necessity to establish the electronic banking system during another part of the meeting and requested coordination as India is quite advanced in this area.
For his part, Mr. Sayeed highlighted the desire of his nation to strengthen ties with the Kurdistan Region, saying: "We are ready to assist the KRG in terms of sharing the expertise of India for the development and promotion of e-government."
