Iran, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan have agreed to continue four-party talks aimed at strengthening cooperation and promoting regional peace and security.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, the agreement was announced in a statement following the first meeting of the four countries, held in Tehran on Monday, 26 October 2026.

The meeting was hosted by Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Participants included Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, and Ibrahim Kalın, head of Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organisation (MİT).

The participants agreed to maintain dialogue and consultations to strengthen cooperation among the four regional states, particularly on regional peace and security.

Pezeshkian: Iran Supports Any Understanding That Promotes Unity Among Islamic Nations

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian welcomed the meeting, expressing satisfaction with the discussions among representatives of Islamic nations and voicing hope that they would help strengthen regional stability and unity.

Pezeshkian said Iran was committed to asserting its legal rights under international law and firmly defending the legitimate rights and interests of the Iranian people.

He also called for greater coordination among influential Islamic countries, saying their representatives’ participation could help deepen regional unity and cooperation.

“We must not allow the Zionist entity to carry out assassinations or acts of aggression against any individual or state whenever it chooses,” Pezeshkian said. He added that a united and coordinated approach among Islamic nations could help prevent such actions.

The Iranian president said countries in the region should manage their differences and focus on shared interests and common ground to address regional challenges more effectively.

He also stressed that political agreements must lead to practical outcomes rather than remain unimplemented commitments.

Achieving meaningful progress, he said, required Islamic nations to develop a common understanding of their objectives, establish a clear vision and remain committed to implementing agreements until tangible results were achieved.

Pezeshkian noted that diplomatic decisions sometimes remained “ink on paper”, arguing that the priority should be to translate agreements into concrete action and bring about meaningful improvements in regional relations.

He reaffirmed Iran’s support for constructive agreements among Islamic nations, saying any understanding that promoted unity, harmony and regional cooperation would receive Tehran’s full support.

He concluded by urging regional countries to prioritise areas of cooperation and ensure that differences of opinion did not obstruct the shared interests of their peoples.
