President Bafel: Kurdistan has a rich artistic legacy

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Badia Dartash, a well-known Kurdish artist, at Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah Province.

The meeting covered the state of art and artists in the Kurdistan Region, as well as the solutions to the issues preventing the development of various artistic disciplines. Ms. Dartash presented a number of significant proposals and views during the discussion.

President Bafel responded by thanking her for more than 50 years of artistic contributions and services to academic institutions and stated: "You are our role model and inspiration, and we owe you your efforts."

President Bafel reiterated his support for the artists, saying, "Kurdistan has a rich artistic legacy, something of which we are proud, and that we must continue to develop it." "The PUK has supported you in the past, and we will continue to do so in the future," he declared.
