HDP Representatives' press conference
In response to the assassination of a member of the People's Democratic Party (HDP) in Duhok Province, a representative of HDP stated: "We know that the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) has a policy of harming and threatening political refugees, and recently, with the assistance of a party in the Kurdistan Region, attacks on us have risen."
The HDP claims in a press conference that a member of their party was assassinated in Duhok by the Turkish MIT: "Our comrade Hussein Tuirani was killed by the Turkish MIT on Monday, April 17, 2023, inside his Duhok workshop, whereas the same person was injured in an armed attack the previous year."
"We know MIT's goal in carrying out this attack is to terrorize and endanger political refugees”. “We also know that the Justice and Development Party, the Nationalist Movement Party, and the Erdogan regime are responsible for the murders of our friends. We vehemently condemn these attacks and call for their cessation. We also demand that their perpetrators be apprehended and given a fair trial," said HDP.
"A large part of the people who have fled to Kurdistan are politicians in northern Kurdistan; they already live a difficult life and, with the assistance of a party in the Kurdistan Region, attacks have increased on them, " a representative of HDP added.
We will fight against the enemies of the Kurds until the very last breath and will not bow our heads to their terrorist acts and threats, the HDP spokesperson continued. "Our message is for any force that believes we will remain silent while they imprison, kill, and punish us."
