A delegation from the Iraqi parliament visited President Mam Jalal's mausoleum to reaffirm their commitment to following in his footsteps, and Dr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani stated: "President Mam Jalal has made many sacrifices for Iraq."
On Saturday, May 13, 2023, a top delegation from Iraq's parliament visited President Mam Jalal's mausoleum and laid a wreath on his grave. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, the former speaker of the Iraqi parliament, led the delegation.
"President Mam Jalal has made many sacrifices for Iraq, and no one can fill his place," said Mashhadani.
"We visited President Mam Jalal's grave today and promised him that we would continue on his peaceful path," said Gharib, a member of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation.
Gharib also stated that the group will meet with Qubad Talabani, the Kurdistan Region's Deputy Prime Minister, today to discuss the resolution of conflicts between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, as well as to gain from his experience in this field.
"Because it is well known on the Iraqi political street that Qubad Talabani has made great efforts to resolve the issues between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, with his frequent trips to Baghdad being the best proof of this," he stated. "As a result, this meeting is critical for the delegation."
The PUK has worked hard to maintain the unity of the Iraqi people, and President Bafel Jalal Talabani's tenacity in pursuing this objective has saved Iraq from collapsing, stated Gharib.
On Friday, May 12, 2023, Ammar Al-Hakim, leader of the National Wisdom Movement, also visited the mausoleum of President Mam Jalal, laid a wreath on his grave, and stated: "President Mam Jalal was a man of great solutions in times of crisis and the obstacles facing our people and the political process, and he fought hard against dictatorship."
