Deputy Prime Minister's meeting with Russian Consul General
Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Maxim Rubin, the Russian Consul General in Erbil. They discussed the internal situation in Kurdistan and addressed the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad.
The meeting in Erbil focused on the internal situation in Kurdistan, and both parties agreed that political parties should use dialogue to resolve disagreements rather than allow tensions to impact citizens' well-being and quality of life.
Relations between Erbil and Baghdad were also covered during the meeting. According to Talabani, Baghdad is the strategic core of the Kurdistan Region, and every effort is made to resolve disputes radically, within the bounds of the Constitution, and in a way that benefits both sides.
After many years of turmoil and instability, he asserted, the people of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region require better stability to improve the delivery of services and collaborate on economic development.
