The President Jalal Talabani Foundation (PJTF) has been successful in funding several international scholarships to be awarded to students attending universities in the Kurdistan Region. The Vice Chairman of the Foundation, Yousif Zozani, made the following statement: "In keeping with President Mam Jalal's goal, we will focus on youth and universities. Furthermore, in the coming years, we will provide a large number of additional courses for universities."
Mr. Zozani stated that "Our foundation has in the past provided seven scholarships for students to study abroad." These scholarships were divided between Koya University, Sulaymaniyah University, and Sulaymaniyah Polytechnic University. The Chinese Consulate provided funding for these five seats, and the Bahr al-Uloom Institute in Najaf contributed funding for the other two seats, both of which were given to Garmian University.
"The Chairman of PJTF, Ambassador Dr. Mohammed Sabir, visited Baghdad recently and met with numerous ambassadors from other countries. The subject of providing scholarships in their nations for students in the Kurdistan Region through the PJTF was one of the topics discussed, and they committed to offering more scholarships for the foundation the next year," he continued.
Zozani further stated that their care for the Kurdistan Region's universities and youth is consistent with President Mam Jalal's vision, which has always valued universities as significant educational institutions.
The President Jalal Talabani Foundation (PJTF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that works to introduce, preserve, and archive President Jalal Talabani's life and struggle. On September 28, 2022, a press conference was held to announce the foundation's launch.
