Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of
the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with a multitude of educators,
religious professors, and prominent individuals in Kirkuk.
Rafaat Abdullah, Aso Mamand, Shalaw Ali
Askari, Hawre Sheikh Daro, and Sheikh Ahmad Hama Karim, who are members of the
Political Bureau, were in attendance, along with Rebwar Taha, the leader of the
Kirkuk coalition list. President Bafel Jalal Talabani commended the influential
role of religious educators and societal leaders in Kirkuk for their efforts in
promoting social consciousness, fostering moderate ideology, and enhancing
harmonious coexistence.
In this context, President Bafel stated:
"The PUK recognises and supports any initiative that aims to promote
harmony and unity among the various ethnic communities and groups in
Kirkuk."
In his speech, President Bafel pointed to
the political programs and services of the Kirkuk coalition and said: "We
are striving to reclaim authority and rectify the direction of government in
the region. Our responsibility is to support and protect Kirkuk while upholding
the rightful entitlements of its resilient people." "We adhere to
President Mam Jalal's position, which entails safeguarding the rights of all
ethnic groups and indigenous people in Kirkuk while firmly opposing any form of
marginalization or discrimination," he added.
President Bafel urged the residents of
Kirkuk to actively participate in the elections and support the Kirkuk
coalition by voting for List 142.
After the discussion ended, a forum for
discussion was opened. "Kirkuk holds a special place in our hearts and is
the residence of every individual from Kirkuk, including me and the PUK,"
President Bafel said in response to the comments and ideas.
"We have consistently remained in
Kirkuk and will continue to do so indefinitely. By achieving triumph through
the Kirkuk coalition, we will create another significant chapter in our PUK's
history and proudly proclaim the news of our victory from your honorable and
ancient citadel," he added.
