The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Jalal Talabani, met with several educators and religious intellectuals in Kirkuk.
Rafaat Abdullah, Aso Mamand, Qubad Talabani, members of the Political Bureau, and Rebwar Taha, member of the Leadership Council, attended the meeting, which focused on strengthening unity and coexistence as well as advancing the concepts of peace and moderation.
During the meeting, President Bafel Jalal Talabani praised religious educators for their role in raising awareness and guiding people toward moral behavior. He emphasized the PUK's policy of unity and coexistence, and he expressed his support for any initiatives aimed at improving Kirkuk and fostering harmonious relations among its diverse ethnic groups and communities.
There was an open discussion at the meeting about providing services to Kirkuk, resolving people's issues, and promoting a culture of peace and coexistence. In response to the proposals, President Bafel stated, "We must serve Kirkuk and meet the needs of its devoted citizens." We are grateful to the esteemed citizens of Kirkuk for their loyalty and bravery. Whatever we do, we will never be able to match the level of sacrifice they have made for Kurdistan and the PUK."
