Liu Jun, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in the Kurdistan Region, extended congratulations to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) on the occasion of the party's 49th establishment anniversary.

CG Jun's message to the PUK said:

On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the founding of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, I extend my sincere congratulation and best wishes to Your Excellency, political bureau and all the members of PUK.

The long-term friendly relationship between the Communist Party of China and PUK is highly valued. Jalal Talabani, the founder of PUK, visited China as early as in 1955. Since that visit Mam Jalal and PUK have made tremendous efforts in promoting mutual friendship and understanding, laid a good foundation for inter-party cooperation. 20 years ago, relationship between CPC and PUK entered into a new chapter, exchanges of high-level visits and delegations between us become a new normal.
