PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani & Janet Alberda, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Iraq.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Janet Alberda, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Iraq.
They discussed the overall situation in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the Middle East, underscoring the necessity for peaceful resolutions and maintaining stability in the region.
President Bafel highlighted the PUK's role in addressing the issues between Erbil and Baghdad, asserting that “all efforts are directed towards protecting the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region and keeping the lives of our people away from conflicts.”
"We believe that by coordinating and working together we can serve the people more and lead the country towards prosperity," he stated.
"We are moving towards a new stage of governance and a healthy administration; a stage where people's lives and empowering our region are the real goal and we want to end injustice and discrimination," President Bafel stated in reference to the elections in the Kurdistan Region.
Security developments and the situation in Gaza were also discussed at the meeting. Both sides stressed the need to unite efforts and keep the region away from conflict and tensions.
