Latif Nerway, Head of the Media Board of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), recently outlined the party's preparations for the forthcoming election campaign, emphasising their dedication to conveying a responsible and data-driven message.
Latif Nerway stated: "The PUK media, alongside other party organs, has made comprehensive preparations for the election campaign. With the launch of the campaign, we will deliver a responsible message supported by data, numbers, and documentation."
He stated: "Although the election campaign has yet to begin, some parties are already attacking Sulaymaniyah in an effort to mislead public opinion. They fail to recognise that these assaults will not distract the people from the critical issues and threats affecting the provinces of Erbil and Duhok. Citizens cannot forget the floods and water shortages in Erbil simply by targeting Sulaymaniyah. Similarly, they will not ignore the difficult circumstances in Duhok, especially with five different forces currently in control there."
Nerway also said: "Let these parties carry out an evidence-based comparison between Erbil and Sulaymaniyah. Sulaymaniyah province excels in education, higher education, greenery, investment, cleanliness, industry, and rural reconstruction. In contrast, Duhok and Erbil are experiencing increasing village evacuations, with life in Duhok's villages nearing its end, as 70% of them have been abandoned."
"Creating chaos and using harsh, data-free rhetoric by these parties is a sign of their hopelessness and lack of self-confidence. They seek to generate an uneven situation, but ultimately, the electoral process is in the hands of the Kurdish people," he added.
He declared that the upcoming elections will go ahead in line with the PUK's commitment to ensuring transparency and fairness, free from the influence of deceased voters and individuals from other regions of Kurdistan.
