PUK President visits Sulaymaniyah's Great Mosque.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), alongside Hawre Sheikh Daro, a member of the PUK's Political Bureau, visited the Great Mosque in Sulaymaniyah following its reconstruction to its original form.
During the visit, President Bafel Jalal Talabani met with religious scholars and project engineers, emphasising the significance and sanctity of the Great Mosque throughout Sulaymaniyah's history. He stated, "The Great Mosque in Sulaymaniyah has been a vital and sacred centre for Muslims since the city's establishment," highlighting that "the esteemed religious figures who served in the mosque exemplified worship and charity, playing a crucial role in promoting the ideals of peace and coexistence, and guiding citizens towards goodness and love."
President Bafel stated, "The construction of the mosque is a primitive endeavour on our part to serve the Islamic faith and its followers. It is a small service to the people of our city and to all those who visit the Great Mosque to cleanse their hearts and souls through the true teachings of Islamic religion."
