PUK President: New Government Must be Established on the Principles of Justice

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Steven Bitner, US Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, in Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.
Their talks addressed the circumstances in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and the region. They also underscored the necessity of uniting efforts towards the success of the political process and providing more services.
President Bafel underscored the necessity for the prompt establishment of a new government in the Kurdistan Region, asserting that it should be founded on principles of balance and justice, accurately representing the aspirations of all groups of people.
"The government must pursue a robust agenda to serve all, free from partisan interference, and strive for the prosperity of Kurdistan, thereby ensuring a more decent life for its citizens," he said.
The meeting addressed the circumstances in the Middle East, particularly Syria, and President Bafel articulated that the PUK is closely observing the events and developments.
"We believe that everyone should responsibly deal with the situation and move towards the next stage," he said.
