PUK President, Former SI Secretary Discuss Advocacy for International Socialism & Coexistence

PUK President warmly greets SI's former Secretary General.
The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Jalal Talabani, received Luis Ayala, the former Secretary-General of the Socialist International, at Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Saadi Ahmed Pire, PUK Spokesperson, and Dara Khailany, Head of the PUK's Foreign Relations Department, President Bafel acknowledged Mr. Ayala’s visit with great appreciation.
PUK President praised Mr. Ayala's ongoing efforts and continuous support for the Kurdish cause and the PUK. He stated: "The PUK will never forget its friends, especially those like you, who were close to President Mam Jalal and supported the rights of the Kurdish people. We will undoubtedly continue President Mam Jalal’s path and persist in our political, civil, and democratic struggle for justice and peace."
For his part, Mr. Ayala, a prominent global politician, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome. He emphasised the importance of President Mam Jalal’s role as a key leader and advocate for human rights, peace, and coexistence. Ayala said: "We are confident that you will carry on that bright legacy and continue the fight for democracy and equality. The current policy of the PUK is a direct reflection of the path laid out by President Mam Jalal.".
Both sides highlighted the need for unified efforts to strengthen international socialism and promote the idea of coexistence within the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and across the globe.
