Kurdistan Region Security Agency Seizes Narcotics & Arrests Two Drug Dealers

The Kurdistan Region Security (Asayish) Agency has announced the arrest of two individuals involved in the narcotics trade, along with the seizure of 70 litres of narcotic acid. The arrests were made during a security operation carried out on the night of 17th December 2024.
According to the Anti-Narcotics Directorate of the Kurdistan Region Security Agency, the operation was based on accurate intelligence and surveillance. Following a judicial order, Asayish forces engaged in armed confrontations with the suspects in the Zharawa sub-district in Sulaymaniyah province, leading to their capture.
During the operation, two containers, each holding 35 litres of narcotic acid, were seized. The suspects had planned to transport the drugs to Erbil.
The two individuals were arrested under Article 25 of the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law, and an investigation is currently underway.
