PUK President, DEM Party Discuss Syria Situation

PUK & DEM Party's meeting
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received a senior delegation from the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) at the PUK Political Bureau's office in Erbil.
The DEM Party delegation included Tülay Hatimoğulları Oruç, Co-Chair; Ebru Günay, Deputy Co-Chair and Co-Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs of DEM Party; Berdan Öztürk, Co-Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs of DEM Party; and Keskin Bayındır, Co-Chair of Democratic Regions Party.
The meeting, attended by Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Head of the PUK Relations Bureau, and Salar Sarhad, Head of the PUK's Kurdistani Relations, addressed the political situation in the Middle East, particularly Syria, emphasising the necessity of a peaceful resolution to the issues and the avoidance of war.
The two parties emphasised the necessity of safeguarding the rights and honouring the will of all Syrian nations and communities, particularly the Kurdish population. They urged everyone to collectively choose the nation's destiny and initiate a new era of governance.
President Bafel reaffirmed the PUK's dedication to achieving a constructive resolution grounded in authentic collaboration for Syria's future.
He said: "We support all efforts focused on safeguarding the rights of the Kurdish people in Syria, and we support our community in the West in realising their goals. We commend Mr. Mazloum Abdi's efforts to uphold peace in the region during this critical period and hope that all parties would strive to address the challenges with the same spirit."
The senior delegation of the DEM Party conveyed their gratitude for President Bafel's and the PUK's Kurdistani stance, which consistently aids in safeguarding Kurdish rights, and clarified that the DEM Party strives to achieve peace and stability.
"Certainly, our efforts to safeguard the rights of the Kurdish people in Syria will persist," they said.
