Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), congratulated President Donald Trump on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States.

President Bafel said in his message to President Trump: "I extend my heartfelt congratulations to President Donald Trump on his inauguration as the President of the United States of America. His leadership marks a new chapter in the enduring relationship between the Kurdish people and the people of the United States of America. "

He added: "I look forward to working with his administration to strengthen our historical bonds and to promote peace and stability in the region. Together, our nations can build a safer and more prosperous world for all."
