Deputy PM Meets Turkish CG to Discuss Regional Issues

Deputy PM and Turkish CG meet in Erbil.
On Wednesday, 5 February 2025, Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Arman Topcu, the Turkish Consul General, to discuss various matters of mutual interest.
During their meeting in Erbil, they exchanged views on the latest political and security developments in the region, with Talabani emphasising the importance of all parties acting responsibly.
Discussions also covered the situation in the Kurdistan Region and the formation of the new government. Talabani referred to ongoing talks between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, noting that technical teams had completed their discussions. He expressed hope that an agreement would be reached soon to establish a government that meets citizens’ expectations.
On the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, Talabani highlighted progress in addressing financial issues, stating that steps had been taken towards long-term solutions. He also noted that the recent amendment to the budget law had created a foundation for resolving other disputes between the two sides.
