Duhok Hosts Second Preparatory Conference for the PUK Forum

The preparatory conference is starting in Duhok.
The second preparatory conference of the PUK Forum is set to commence today, Thursday 20th February 2025, in Duhok Governorate.
Latif Nerweyi, the Head of the Media Board at the PUK, informed PUKMEDIA that, in line with the decision of the Supreme Committee of the PUK Forum and under the theme "With a New Vision, Strength, Progress, and Services," the second preparatory conference for the PUK Forum will begin today, Thursday.
He explained that the conference will take place in Duhok, with participation from activists, political figures, intellectuals, writers, journalists, and numerous other guests.
He further clarified that the purpose of the forum is to develop and discuss a new vision for the PUK and its preparations for the next phase of political activity and governance in the Kurdistan Region. The preparatory conference, being held in Duhok, will also involve PUK members, prominent figures, and a range of local communities and it will be hosted additional times across various other governorates and regions.
Throughout the forum, PUK members and participants will review their vision for the future of the PUK and the policies to be pursued in the upcoming stages. The forum also aims to strengthen the PUK's position as the leading and most influential party in the political landscape of the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the wider region, as well as in international relations. Discussions will focus on adapting to the changes and developments in the region, and a framework will be agreed upon.
As per the internal regulations established at the fifth PUK Congress, the PUK Forum is an official, recurring event and a key platform for the party’s cadres. The first PUK Forum commenced on 12 March 2022, under the supervision of Qubad Talabani, and concluded on 31 May 2022, during which the PUK's policies across various areas were developed, becoming a cornerstone of the PUK’s overall strategy.
