PUK President Bids Farewell to British Ambassador

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani and British Ambassador to Iraq Stephen Hitchen.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), attended the farewell ceremony of British Ambassador to Iraq Stephen Hitchen, whose mission in Iraq has come to an end, at the VIM Foundation's office in Sulaymaniyah.

During the ceremony, which was attended by Kurdistan Region's Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani and Sulaymaniyah Governor Dr. Haval Abubakir, President Bafel expressed gratitude to the British Ambassador for the important role he played during his work in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, where he helped and supported the success of the political process, bringing the parties closer together and maintaining political stability and security in the country.

Furthermore, President Bafel wished Stephen Hitchen every success in his future assignment and asked him to continue to support the rights of the Kurdish people and strengthen relations between the Kurdish people and the United Kingdom within the framework of protecting the highest interests.
