During both meetings, Deputy PM Talabani highlighted the strong understanding reached between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). He noted that during their most recent discussions, they finalised the joint vision for governance in the Kurdistan Region. He stated, “Given the favourable conditions, the government formation process has gained momentum, and we are optimistic that a new government will soon be established in the Kurdistan Region.”
He further emphasised that the PUK and KDP have agreed to form a strong, effective, and unified government in response to the Region’s current challenges and to meet the aspirations of its citizens.
Qubad Talabani expressed gratitude to Italy and Australia for their ongoing support in the fight against terrorism and urged both nations to continue their assistance, as terrorism remains a major threat to the security and stability of the surrounding region.
