Steven Bitner, United States (U.S.) Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, visited the mausoleum of President Mam Jalal on Saturday, 26 April 2025, where he was welcomed by the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal.
CG Bitner laid a wreath at the grave of the late President and signed the memorial book. In his message, he praised President Mam Jalal’s legacy as a distinguished national leader who played a pivotal role in building a new Iraq and fostering unity and stability among the region’s peoples. He highlighted that that the United States fondly remembers those days.
The Secretariat Bureau, in turn, underscored the deep-rooted relationship between the Kurdish and American peoples, expressing a desire to further strengthen cooperation based on mutual commitment to shared national principles.
