PUK President, Iraqi President Emphasise Protection of Rights Under Constitutional Principles

PUK President meets Iraqi President at Dabashan.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Dr Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, President of the Republic of Iraq, at Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.
During their meeting, the two sides discussed recent developments in Iraq and the broader region, stressing the importance of safeguarding security and stability across both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
With regard to the differences between Erbil and Baghdad and other unresolved issues, both parties emphasised the need to uphold the rights of all sides in line with constitutional principles. President Bafel commended President Rashid’s ongoing efforts to bridge divides and foster understanding between the various parties.
PUK President: Citizens’ Livelihoods Remain PUK’s Top Priority
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Steve Bitner, the United States Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, in Dabashan.
In the meeting, they discussed key domestic and regional developments, emphasising the importance of continued coordination and cooperation among the various political parties and forces.
They also stressed the need to resolve the differences between Erbil and Baghdad on the basis of constitutional principles and to implement the agreements previously concluded between the two sides. President Bafel affirmed that “the lives and livelihoods of citizens remain a top priority for the PUK,” and noted that communication with Iraqi authorities would continue in order to address ongoing challenges.
