Trump Announces Talks with Iran, Claims Nuclear Deal Possible

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has announced that the US will hold talks with Iran next week, indicating that a nuclear deal with Tehran is probable.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, 25 June 2025, Trump stated: “We will meet with the Iranians next week, and we may reach an agreement.” He added, “I don’t think either Israel or Iran will attack the other after today.”

He went on, “Last week, we carried out a very successful, precise strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities,” emphasising, “Our military is formidable, and our recent strikes in Iran showcased America’s deterrent capability.”

Trump maintained that “the large deployment of American power has created a pathway to peace,” noting, “According to a statement from the Israel Atomic Energy Commission, the attacks have set back Iran’s nuclear programme by years.”

He criticised “the misleading media in the United States that doubt the results of our strikes in Iran,” highlighting that “30 missiles were launched from American submarines during our operation and hit their targets with precision in Iran.” Trump also said, “B‑2 pilots executed an excellent mission at Iran’s Fordow facility and returned safely to the US.” He added, “Fifty‑two Israeli aircraft were en route to Iran in response to what they perceived as a ceasefire violation, but I ordered them to turn back.”

It is worth noting that the ceasefire between Iran and Israel entered its second day today, following a 12‑day war, amid mounting international appeals to resume negotiations and secure a lasting resolution to forestall further conflict.

In the most recent developments, the Iranian parliament has approved a bill to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, pending endorsement by the Guardian Council.
