Moscow Union of Kurdology Established in Moscow, Russia.
The Moscow Union of Kurdology was officially launched on Sunday in the Russian capital, bringing together representatives from Kurdish organisations, six academic and scientific institutions, and with the support of political parties from across the four parts of Kurdistan.
At its inaugural conference, Swara Shakali was elected secretary of the organisation. Ilya Vedenev, Shorsh Abi, Tatilne Odinsova and Waziri Kashakhi were also appointed to its board of directors.
Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, a member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s Political Bureau, welcomed the establishment of the Union and congratulated organisers on the successful launch, wishing them success in their work. Representatives of other political parties across Kurdistan likewise expressed their support.
The Union aims to foster scientific and cultural links between Russia and Kurdistan and to serve as a platform for uniting Kurdistan’s political movements. It also intends to promote and publish research on Kurdish history, culture, religion and politics, providing scholars with resources and logistical support for their academic work.
