Sheikh Mustafa: Women's Votes Can Bring About Meaningful Change in Political Landscape

The meeting of Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Head of the Protection Council of the Higher Interests of the PUK, with the party's officials in Bakrajo and Raparin.
Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Head of the Protection Council of the Higher Interests of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), visited the electoral districts of Bakrajo and Raparin in Sulaymaniyah.
He was warmly received by Dr Omed, head of the 11th Electoral District of Bakrajo; Kawa Salim, head of the 30th Electoral District of Kirkuk/Sulaymaniyah; Salar Bazyani, head of the 12th Electoral District of Raparin; along with a number of cadres from the three electoral districts.
In three separate meetings, Sheikh Mustafa commended the dedication and tireless efforts of the heads and cadres of the electoral districts, who continue to encourage public participation and support for the candidates of the PUK’s List 222 in the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections.
He also emphasised the vital role of women in the election campaign teams, highlighting the importance of their active participation in the voting process. He noted that women represent half of society and that their votes can bring about meaningful change in the political landscape.
Sheikh Mustafa further underscored the importance of the upcoming 11 November election, calling on the public to turn out in large numbers to “turn the ballot boxes green” and celebrate a collective victory.
During his meeting with the leaders and cadres of the 30th Electoral District of Kirkuk/Sulaymaniyah, Sheikh Mustafa praised the courage and resilience of the people of Kirkuk throughout different stages of the Kurdish struggle. He stressed the importance of the return of all Kirkuk residents currently living in Sulaymaniyah and other Kurdish cities to Kirkuk on election day.
In turn, the electoral district leaders and cadres expressed their gratitude to Sheikh Mustafa for his constant guidance, encouragement, and support for the party’s institutions and members. They also shared their optimism about the strong public response and reaffirmed their full commitment to ensuring a decisive and democratic victory for the PUK’s List of Martyrs.
