Harem Kamal Agha, the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) List 222 in the Erbil constituency, has criticised the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for practising discrimination in the provision of public services.
In an interview with PUKMEDIA, Harem Kamal Agha said that inequality in service delivery has become widespread and is now visible even among neighbourhoods within Erbil itself.
“There is considerable discrimination by the KRG in the delivery of services,” he stated. “The distinction has gone beyond cities — even within Erbil, some neighbourhoods are denied services simply because of certain individuals who live there.”
He emphasised that government institutions must serve all citizens equally, rather than operate under party influence.
“The government must be a government of the people, not a government of a party,” he said. “This kind of discrimination is unacceptable, and we, as the PUK, want the next government to overcome this stage and become one that serves everyone fairly, without bias or political favouritism.”
