At Least 2,571 Killed in Iran Protests, Rights Group Says; Trump Claims ‘Help Is on the Way’

Donald Trump, The U.S. President.
At least 2,571 people have been killed during Iran’s ongoing anti-government protests, according to figures released by the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), as unrest continues to grip cities across the country.
The rights group said the death toll reflects months of nationwide demonstrations and a sustained crackdown by Iranian security forces. The figures have not been independently verified, and Iranian authorities have provided lower casualty estimates, while restricting access to information and media coverage.
U.S. President Donald Trump has weighed in on the unrest, urging Iranian protesters to continue demonstrating and stating on social media that “help is on the way,” without specifying what form that assistance would take. He also warned Iranian authorities against further violence and signaled potential consequences if the crackdown continues.
The protests, driven by economic hardship, political repression, and public anger toward the ruling establishment, have prompted heightened international concern. Western governments and human rights organisations have repeatedly called on Tehran to halt the use of force against demonstrators and respect basic freedoms.
Iranian officials, meanwhile, accuse foreign powers of inciting unrest and deny responsibility for large-scale civilian casualties, describing the protests as violent and destabilising.
