Mustafa Özçelik, leader of North Kurdistan Patriotic Party or Partîya Welatparêzên Kurdistanê (PWK), visited the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's (PUK) Relations Bureau/Kurdistani Relations Department, where he was welcomed by Omar Sheikhmous, Kurdish politician and member of the PUK founding board.
The meeting focused on the situation in West Kurdistan (north and East Syria) and the removal of obstacles to the peace process in Türkiye and North Kurdistan, where Sheikhmous said: "The situation in the region and the changes require more unity from the Kurds."
"The developments in North Kurdistan will affect all other parts of Kurdistan," he added.
Özçelik praised the role of the late President Mam Jalal, noting his support for the Kurdish revival at difficult stages and describing him as a key architect in the Kurdish people’s struggle for liberation.
Salar Sarhad, a member of the PUK Leadership Council in charge of the party's Kurdistani relations, added: "The PUK maintains strong relations with all political parties in North Kurdistan that are pursuing Kurdish rights in Türkiye through peaceful means. The PUK will always support the peace process in Türkiye and North Kurdistan."
