Nine Health Organisations Launch Campaign to Aid Kurds in Syria and Western Kurdistan

Nine health organisations and associations announced today, Monday 26 January 2026, in Sulaymaniyah the launch of a campaign to collect medicines and medical supplies to support Kurds in Rojava. A member of the Kurdistan Parliament from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc also contributed 10 tonnes of medical supplies for the initiative.
Hawzhin Osman, head of the Sulaymaniyah branch of the Kurdistan Health Professions Syndicate, said at a press conference: “We have organised this campaign with the participation of nine health associations and organisations to collect medicines and medical equipment for our people in Rojava.”
He added: “Yesterday, we met with representatives of the Autonomous Administration in Western Kurdistan, the Deputy Minister of Health, and other relevant officials, and agreed to launch this campaign to support our brothers and sisters in Rojava.” Osman noted that the campaign will run for a week, with aid dispatched in batches. He also highlighted that “Dr Rekawt Hama Rashid, a PUK parliamentary member, personally collected 10 tonnes of medicines and supplies for this effort.”
