PUK General Studies Centre and Russian Institute Discuss Joint Conferences and Regional Issues

The General Studies Centre of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) received on Monday, 16 February 2025, a delegation from the Institute of Oriental Studies Russian Academy of Science, headed by Assoc. Prof. Plotnikov Nikola, in Sulaymaniyah.

During the meeting, which was attended by Dr Yousif Goran, Head of the General Studies Centre, and Dr Omed Rafiq, Head of the Strategic Research Department, the discussions centred on future joint activities between the two sides, particularly the organisation of joint conferences and meetings.

Both parties also exchanged views and information on key strategic and pressing issues in the Middle East in general and the region in particular.

The Institute of Oriental Studies is a Moscow-based governmental research institution comprising 19 members and 20 diplomats who work on oriental affairs worldwide and report directly to the Russian presidency.
