PUK Spokesperson: The PUK Stands as Guardian of the Uprising’s Legacy & the Safety of the People

The official Spokesperson for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) affirmed that the PUK, under President Bafel Jalal Talabani's leadership, remains committed to protecting the people.
Karwan Gaznay told PUKMEDIA: “Today, we proudly mark the anniversary of the Kurdish uprising, which began in the city of Ranya, the gateway to the revolt, under the leadership of the PUK, and which represented a major historical turning point.”
He added: “One of the greatest achievements of the Kurdish uprising was the establishment of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the consolidation of the Kurds’ political and constitutional identity within the framework of federal Iraq.”
Gaznay explained: “At this critical stage, it is our duty to intensify our efforts with unity and cohesion, relying on the Constitution to safeguard the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people and protect the gains secured through the sacrifices and blood of our martyrs. By embracing the spirit of the uprising, we can defend our achievements and work towards a brighter future.”
The spokesperson concluded: “The PUK is the guardian of the values of the uprising. Now, as our people face the threats posed by regional conflict, the PUK and President Bafel Jalal Talabani remain resolute in their goal to protect our land and our citizens from all dangers.”
