Kosrat Rasul Ali.
Kosrat Rasul Ali has extended his Eid al-Fitr greetings to Muslims worldwide and the people of Kurdistan, linking the occasion with Newroz and the anniversary of the liberation of Kirkuk, while calling for unity and stability amid ongoing regional tensions.
The following is Mr Kosrat’s message:
On the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, I extend my warmest congratulations to Muslims across the world, and particularly to the people of Kurdistan.
This year’s Eid coincides with the arrival of the Kurdish New Year and Newroz. I would like to offer my special congratulations to all Kurdish people on this national occasion. I hope this celebration brings happiness and joy to our people. At a time when the world is facing difficult circumstances, it is essential that our people and our region are safeguarded from rising tensions among neighbouring countries.
On the occasion of these important celebrations, I also extend my congratulations to the people of Kirkuk. Thirty-five years ago, on Newroz, through careful planning and direct participation, we succeeded in liberating the city from the Ba’ath regime, allowing its people to breathe freedom for the first time.
I hope these occasions bring goodness and happiness to the Kurdish people, in honour of our long history of sacrifice, and for the sake of a brighter future and peaceful coexistence. I call on all political forces and parties to set aside their differences and work together in the spirit of unity and struggle, to fulfil the aspirations of our people and ensure a dignified life for all.
Kosrat Rasul Ali
