Kurdistan Region VP Meets French CG, Discusses Security and Regional Developments

Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received Yann Braem, the French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.

Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received Yann Braem, the French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, on Monday.

The meeting addressed the latest political and security developments in Iraq, as well as the threat posed by the Islamic State (ISIS) to the stability and security of the Kurdistan Region and the wider region.

Both sides also emphasised the importance of maintaining and strengthening bilateral relations, particularly through diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving peaceful solutions and avoiding war and destruction.

Discussions further covered the reform process and reunification of the Peshmerga forces, relations between Erbil and Baghdad, and the importance of unity and solidarity among Kurdish political parties in the Kurdistan Region and across Iraq.
