Kurdistan Region Deputy PM Meets Greek Environment and Energy Minister

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Greek Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavro on the sidelines of the Delphi International Economic Forum.

They discussed the establishment of a mechanism to transition the mutual understandings between the two sides into a practical implementation phase. 

For this purpose, the two sides decided to form specialised technical teams in digitalisation, tourism, agriculture, energy, and health to develop a roadmap for organising their partnership and taking concrete action.

In another part of the meeting, both sides underlined the importance of Greece to the Kurdistan Region, and vice versa. They agreed that Greece could serve as a bridge for establishing agricultural ties with the European Union, while the Kurdistan Region could act as a gateway to other parts of Iraq.
