Iraqi President Eyes Stronger Netherlands Partnership in Talks with Dutch Ambassador

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received Dutch Ambassador to Iraq Janet Alberda at Al-Salam Palace on Sunday, where the two sides underscored their commitment to expanding cooperation between Baghdad and The Hague.

The ambassador congratulated President Amedi on assuming office and expressed her best wishes for success in leading the country and fulfilling the aspirations of the Iraqi people, according to a statement by the Iraqi Presidency.

“There is broad scope to expand cooperation between Iraq and the Netherlands in ways that reinforce stability, drive development and advance the shared interests of our two friendly countries,” President Amedi said, underscoring Baghdad’s commitment to strengthening ties with The Hague.

He said Iraq is keen to deepen cooperation across a wide range of sectors and translate the two countries’ strong relationship into practical partnerships that deliver tangible benefits for both nations.
