Deputy PM Qubad Talabani.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Qubad Talabani has congratulated Ali Faleh al-Zaidi on securing a vote of confidence from the Iraqi Parliament, expressing hope that outstanding issues between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region will be resolved through constitutional mechanisms and mutual understanding during the new government’s term.
The following is Talabani’s statement:
Mr. Ali Falih Al-Zaidi, Prime Minister of the Federal Government
On the occasion of winning the vote of confidence from the Iraqi Council of Representatives, I extend my warmest congratulations to you and all the esteemed ministers.
I wish you success in ensuring security and stability, advancing economic development, and improving the living conditions and livelihoods of all Iraqi citizens.
We are optimistic that during your government’s term, all outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government will be resolved in accordance with the Constitution and through mutual understanding.
To this end, we express our full readiness for all forms of support and cooperation.
