Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, has extended his congratulations to the newly elected leadership of the Iraqi Football Association, expressing optimism for a new era of progress, professionalism and international success for Iraqi football.
Deputy PM Talabani’ congratulatory message read:
On the occasion of their election to lead the Iraqi Football Association, I extend my warmest congratulations to Captain Younis Mahmoud on his election as President of the Association, as well as to his two deputies and all newly elected members of the Association.
I would also like to extend my special congratulations to Mahmoud Ahmed, Vice President of Sulaymaniyah Peshmerga Club, on his election as a member of the Iraqi Football Association.
We look at this new leadership team with great optimism and confidence, hoping it will lay a strong and lasting foundation for the future of Iraqi football. We aspire to see meaningful progress in strengthening professionalism, developing the game at all levels, and advancing the standards of Iraqi football both technically and institutionally. We also hope that, under its leadership, Iraqi football will achieve greater accomplishments and secure a stronger and more distinguished presence on the regional and international stage.
