Deputy Head of the Finnish Mission: President Mam Jalal was a Great Leader

On Sunday, 7 June 2026, Aki Kauppinen, Deputy Head of the Finnish Mission in Baghdad, visited the mausoleum of President Mam Jalal, where he was received by a delegation from the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal.

During the visit, Kauppinen laid a wreath of flowers and reflected on the life, history, and political struggle of President Mam Jalal, describing him as a great leader of both the Kurdish and Iraqi people.

He noted that President Mam Jalal had successfully overcome numerous conflicts and challenges throughout his political career through wisdom, intelligence, and leadership, despite enduring some of the most difficult periods in the region’s modern history.

Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for Mr Kauppinen’s understanding and recognition of President Mam Jalal’s struggle and lifelong dedication to the freedom and rights of his people.
