President Nizar Amedi Visits Jalal Talabani Foundation Headquarters in Baghdad.
Iraqi President Nizar Amedi paid a visit to the headquarters of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation in Baghdad on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, where he was welcomed by the Foundation’s Chairman, Ambassador Dr Mohammed Saber, together with a number of its members. President Amedi congratulated the Foundation on the opening of its headquarters in the capital and wished it every success in carrying forward its humanitarian and national mission.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Justice Khalid Shwani, discussions focused on the Foundation’s activities and programmes across the cultural, social and humanitarian sectors. The participants also explored opportunities for cooperation in supporting initiatives that serve citizens and help strengthen the values of coexistence and unity among the diverse components of Iraqi society.
President Amedi remarked that the President Jalal Talabani Foundation represents a continuation of a distinguished national legacy that has left a lasting imprint on Iraq’s political landscape. He stressed the importance of sustaining efforts that encourage dialogue and mutual understanding while supporting stability and national partnership. The President further affirmed that the principles and vision championed by President Mam Jalal will continue to serve as a beacon for reinforcing national unity, narrowing differences between political forces, and mobilising collective efforts to address current challenges in a manner that safeguards the country’s best interests.
For their part, the Chairman and members of the Foundation expressed their gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the archives of the late President Mam Jalal. They also highlighted the Foundation’s ongoing programmes and initiatives aimed at serving the community and supporting all efforts that promote cooperation, understanding and closer relations among the Iraqi people.
