Russian Ambassador Praises Bafal Talabani’s Regional Role During Dabashan Meeting

PUK President receives Russian Ambassador in Dabashan.

Bafal Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Elbrus Kutrashev, the Russian Ambassador to Iraq, in Dabashan.

The meeting focused on the latest political, economic and security developments in Iraq, with both sides stressing the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and Russia.

During the talks, the Russian Ambassador to Iraq highlighted Bafal Jalal Talabani’s influential role in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the wider region, noting that the PUK pursues a prudent and balanced policy. He added that Russia highly values the emergence of a new generation of young political leaders in Iraq.
