Iraqi President attends Khamenei’s funeral.

President Nizar Amedi attended the funeral and farewell ceremonies for Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, who passed away, in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Friday, 3 July 2026.

President Amedi extended his deepest condolences to the Islamic Republic of Iran, its leadership and people over the profound loss.

He prayed for God Almighty to bestow His mercy upon the late Grand Ayatollah and to grant his family and the Iranian people patience, strength and comfort during this difficult time.
