PUK President, German CG Highlight the Importance of Stronger Ties

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani's meeting with German CG Albrecht von Wittke.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Albrecht von Wittke, Germany's Consul General to the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, a member of the PUK Political Bureau, von Wittke announced the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in the Kurdistan Region. President Bafel thanked him for his influential role in the Kurdistan Region and wished him every success in his future assignment.

The meeting also covered the political situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, with both sides underlining the importance of cooperation among all political parties to resolve outstanding issues and preserve stability across the region.

The two sides also stressed the importance of further strengthening relations between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with Germany.
