Qubad Talabani Discusses AI and Digital Transformation During Albania Visit

On Tuesday, 7 July 2026, the second day of his official visit to Albania, Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani visited the National Information Society Agency and Albania's Start-up Agency.
He was welcomed by Deputy Minister for Economy and Innovation Martin Kajo, Director General for the National Agency for Information Society Igli Tafa, and Director of the Albanian Startup Agency Arjan Ymeri.
The meetings focused on the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in driving economic development, improving the delivery of public services and enhancing the efficiency of government institutions.
Both sides underlined the importance of expanding cooperation and sharing expertise between the Kurdistan Region and Albania, particularly in the fields of e-government, artificial intelligence, data protection, cybersecurity and the development of information technology skills.
The Albanian government also expressed its full readiness to deploy experts and technical specialists to the Kurdistan Region to support the regional government's digital transformation agenda, including institutional automation projects and the integration of AI technologies into government operations.
