Qubad Talabani Discusses Tourism and Cultural Cooperation with Albanian Minister

During his visit to Albania, Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Albania’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja.

The meeting was attended by Dara Rashid, Minister of Planning; Zhwan Sabir, Head of the Tourism Authority; Daban Shadala, Deputy Minister of the Department of Foreign Relations; and Safin Ghafur, Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in tourism, safeguarding archaeological and cultural heritage sites, and exchanging expertise and best practices.

During the meeting, Qubad Talabani highlighted the Kurdistan Region’s potential for tourism development, noting that the Kurdistan Regional Government considers the sector a key priority as part of its efforts to diversify sources of income. He also stressed the importance of strengthening ties with Albania, expressing the Region’s willingness to benefit from the successful experiences of friendly countries, including those of the Albanian government.

Qubad Talabani also extended a formal invitation to the Albanian Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports to visit the Kurdistan Region to further deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation through the exchange of expertise.
