Qubad Talabani: Khanaqin Remains a Historic Stronghold of the PUK

Qubad Talabani meets PUK members in Khanaqin.
During his visit to the Garmian Administration, Qubad Talabani, Head of President Mam Jalal’s Secretariat Bureau, met with the leadership and members of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s (PUK) Khanaqin headquarters.
At the meeting, Talabani congratulated Karwan Yarwais on his appointment as Head of the Khanaqin headquarters and wished him and the members every success in carrying out their responsibilities.
Talabani highlighted the strategic importance of Khanaqin to the PUK, describing it as one of the party’s historic strongholds since the early years of the Kurdish liberation movement. He stressed that members of the Khanaqin headquarters should adapt to the party’s evolving circumstances and continue working to strengthen the PUK’s presence and influence in the area, pledging the party’s full support.
During the discussions, Talabani also outlined the PUK’s current policies and political direction. He said that, under the leadership of Bafel Jalal Talabani, the PUK continues to consolidate its position and influence across the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and internationally, ensuring that the party’s policies and priorities remain at the forefront of political developments at all levels.
After hearing the views, concerns and requests of the members, Talabani pledged to follow up on the issues raised and work towards resolving existing challenges. He reaffirmed that the PUK and its representatives in Baghdad would continue to make every effort to address the concerns and needs of the people of Khanaqin.
